On the device

Rifle and bow profiles, training attempts, and Field Readiness stay on the device. Without an account, that information is not uploaded.

Account

Sign-in uses Sign in with Apple or an email and a password. Apple may give a private relay address instead of your real email. The password is handled by the account service and is not stored in the app.

Creating an account uploads the gear profile so it can be restored. An uploaded attempt is the mode, the profile, and the time. The holds, the misses, and the Field Readiness breakdown stay on the device. A Pro score posted to a board sends the display name, the board, the score, and the attempt count.

Name, friends, and shared shots

A display name is public. The website leaderboard can show that name, the score, and the attempt count with no login. Friend requests and friendships are stored for the two accounts. A shared shot stores the scenario, the gear, and both people’s holds, and the friend can see it.

If you allow notifications, a push token is saved on the account so the phone can alert you when a friend sends a shot. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Apple processes the payment. Shot Examiner does not receive your full payment card number. RevenueCat confirms whether Pro is active so it can be restored. That active or inactive status is stored with the account.

Where it is kept

Accounts, profiles, attempt records, display names, friends, shared shots, push tokens, gear submissions, website visit totals, and email lists are hosted by Supabase. Apple handles sign-in, payment, and push delivery. RevenueCat handles subscription status. Resend delivers email. We do not sell this information.

What this service does not collect

Shot Examiner does not use advertising, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites. It does not collect location, camera photos, your photo library, contacts, or health data. The marketing pages do not set advertising cookies.

This website

shotexaminer.com is a marketing site. It does not run training and it does not require an account. The public leaderboard shows display names and scores.

The marketing pages keep a first-party record of a visit: the page, a random visitor id stored in the browser, the session, the referrer host, campaign tags on the link, a coarse device class, an approximate time on the page, and the country supplied by the host when it has one. Clicks on the App Store link are counted. The raw IP address is not stored. This record is not sold and it is not shared with an advertising network. The owner can sign in at /insights/ to read the totals.

A confirmed app account can receive notes about the account and about Pro. Those notes have a link to stop them. The signup in the footer is a separate list for updates and specials. That list is only for people who join it, and every message has a link to leave. Leaving the list does not delete an app account.

The gear form stores your name, email, role, and the specifications you submit, including the source page, so the submission can be reviewed. That information is not used for training or for the leaderboard. A gear submission is not tied to an app account, so deleting the account leaves the submission in the review queue.

Deleting an account

You can delete the account from Settings in the app. Deleting it removes the profiles and attempts on that device and deletes the remote account. That deletion includes the display name, friends, scores, shared shots, the push token, and unsent account emails.

Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Canceling the subscription does not delete the account.

Age

Shot Examiner is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly keep information from a child under 13. If you believe we have, write to privacy@shotexaminer.com.
